CreArtBox Music Festival
Celebrated by The New Yorker as one of its "art and music top picks in 2019" the CreArtBox Music Festival has solidified its presence as one of the most sought-after classical music platforms in Queens, offering regularly sold-out performances since its premiere in 2018.
Directed and curated by Guillermo Laporta and Josefina Urraca, the festival presents CreArtBox's roster of musicians, many of whom are members of notable orchestras and ensembles such as the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, New York Philharmonic, New World Symphony Orchestra, and BBC Orchestra.
A key component of the festival is the use of captivating visual installations and theatrical design alongside the musical performances. CreArtBox works with visual artists, designers, dancers, and other creatives to craft multi-layered performances centered around classical music.

The Tony Moreno Trio, featuring Tony Moreno (drums), Gary Versace (piano), and François Moutin (bass), emerged from a long-running residency at the 55 Bar in New York, where they redefined jazz with bold reinterpretations of standards and inventive improvisation. After Frank Kimbrough’s passing in 2020, Gary Versace joined permanently, amplifying the trio's sound. Their latest release, Ballads Vol. 1, showcases the trio’s powerful musical synergy through a collection of reimagined ballads. Combining individual brilliance with a shared commitment to creative freedom, they blend intricate rhythms, lyrical improvisation, and dynamic musical dialogue into a compelling, unified sound.

Architecture of a common man is an opera-ballet-film performance that follows the journey of a world-recognized photographer working on a documentary about his own life, aiming to teach others how to be successful. While creating this documentary, he unveils a fascinating retrospective of his life. Analyzing his relationship with work, family, health, and spirituality. Eventually discovering parts of himself that were buried in his professional ambitions. The main character is split into three performers, an actor on the screen plus 2 alter egos on the stage (a contemporary dancer and an opera baritone). The music is originally written for soprano, baritone, string quartet, piano, synthesizer, and choir. This piece explores how society encourages us to be exceptional, great, perfect, successful, or unique, exploring the true meaning of success and how someone can find happiness in life by just being a common man.

Fragile form is a 3 part "visual concert", a type of performance that most defines the identity of CreArtBox. Visual art and theatrical design techniques enhance the audience's listening experience of classical and contemporary music while respecting the original musical composition. The music serves as the creative anchor of the performance while the visual component builds the dramaturgy arch that unifies the performance into a single piece of art.
